From 1 July 2025, a new federal initiative will offer significant rebates to help households and small businesses install solar battery systems. The Cheaper Home Batteries Program aims to:
- Help up to 1 million households install battery storage
- Offer up to 30% off installed battery costs (around $4,000 in savings)
- Work alongside existing state rebates and energy programs
