Save on your energy bills
Don’t miss out on the best time to significantly lower your energy bills by installing solar panels in your home in the ACT. Not only will solar panels lower your incoming bills, but they are also one of the most environmentally friendly power sources available.
Installing panels will help to minimise carbon emissions your household or business is producing, reducing your carbon footprint.
The Energy People is a Clean Energy Council (CEC) approved and accredited retailer with over 12 years of experience in installing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in Canberra. We offer finance and prompt post-sale maintenance and cleaning. So you can sit back, relax and enjoy the sun. We can provide a quote and install your solar panels in Canberra.
Solar Inverters
An inverter is an important component in a solar system, as it takes electricity from a power source that produces DC electricity and converts it into mains-equivalent 230 volt AC electricity ready for use in your house.
This is something that should only be handled by a qualified solar installer. The Energy People has a team of CEC accredited technicians ready to install and maintain your solar inverter.
Solar Meters
A solar meter measures how much electricity is produced by a PV system. While a traditional meter only measures electricity from the grid to your home, a solar meter can measure it both ways – how much power from a system flows to your home, and how much of it you’re returning to the grid. Solar meters can also record and measure your electricity production and consumption, and alert you to issues with system performance.
The Energy People can explain all the differences between the major brands and are with you every step of the way. We help you make the right choice so you can have peace of mind.
Solar Optimisers
In a conventional solar power system, if a single panel performs poorly (shade is the usual factor), then it affects the performance of all the other modules that share the same ‘string’. An optimiser ensures that each panel passes the maximum current, no matter how much shade there is, or whether a panel in its string is performing poorly.
How Solar Works
- Solar panels convert the sun’s energy into an electric current (DC).
- The inverter then converts the variable direct current (DC) into alternating 240V current (AC). AC electricity then can be fed into your home to operate your appliances.
- A smart meter measures how much energy you’ve used. Excess energy created is then fed into the electricity grid which your electricity retailer will provide a credit in your electricity bill.
- A WIFI enabled inverter helps you monitor your solar systems performance in live time.
- If required, optimisers will increase the conversion rate so you can extract more DC energy from your solar panels.
